Sankofa Achievement Center, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to empowering at-risk youth to delve deeply into their studies and achieve self-realization by gaining profound insights into academic, cultural, and social excellence.
Mission Statement:
The mission of The Sankofa Achievement Center is to enhance academic achievement, promote cultural enrichment, and foster the development of social skills among at-risk youth.
Vision Statement:
The Sankofa Achievement Center envisions a future where every student acquires a profound understanding of the knowledge and skills essential for pursuing higher education, entrepreneurship, contributing to the community’s civic well-being, and leading a fulfilling life enriched by culture and diversity.
Sankofa Achievement Center supports youth aged 7-24 facing academic, social, and emotional challenges. The center offers outreach, intervention services, educational programs, job training, and entrepreneurial opportunities to empower youth towards independence and a sustainable future.
Encourages leadership qualities in youth without mandatory leadership roles, allowing them to participate, contribute, and lead in activities.
Engages youth as active participants, involving them in service design, delivery, and evaluation alongside adults in partnership.
Encourages and enhances youth assets for positive growth, preparing them for a successful adulthood.
Intentional process to promote protective factors in young people and complement efforts to prevent risky behaviors and address negative behaviors.
Civic involvement and engagement by youth in schools and communities through service. SAC involves the entire community, values youth, family, and partners, with a focus on youth-adult collaboration for solutions.
We are delighted to announce the successful reinstatement of our nonprofit status in the state of Tennessee following its dissolution due to administrative reasons.

Sankofa Achievement Center, Inc. supports over 300 homeless youth annually by offering vital services like food, shelter, healthcare access, unconditional care, and respect. Despite the ongoing community health crisis, the urgent needs of these individuals persist, underscoring the necessity for assistance.

Sankofa Achievement Center, Inc. is supported by a generous community of volunteers. We have a variety of on-campus volunteer opportunities including stocking donations in our Cov Closet and Food Pantry, Career Center programming, special event support and more!
